Travel Fund

As we have for our most recent conferences, the C19 Society will once again be asking our members to consider contributing to a pool of money to be distributed as Travel Fund Grants to assist individuals who are accepted to the Program in financing attendance at the conference.

While conference travel funding has gotten more difficult every year that the C19 has been in existence as an aspect of the overall diminishing of tenure-track and/or more secure jobs within the field of 19th-century American studies in particular and in the humanities at large in higher education, we recognize that recent federal policy changes pertaining to academic, research, and higher education funding will likely have deep and wide impacts on our membership. In light of this political context, we ask that those C19 members who are able to do so, to please strongly consider contributing to the Travel Fund when Registration opens so that our contingent, adjunct, unaffiliated, graduate worker, and other generally underfunded colleagues have resources to draw on in order to join us in Cincinnati.

Travel Grant Application directions will be posted here after acceptance decisions are sent out.
